PROBABLE CAUSE

ACTION

The monitor doesn’t turn on.

  • The power cable of the monitor is not properly plugged in.
  • Check to make sure all the power connections are secure.
  • Check to see if the computer power is ON.

The monitor displays nothing on screen or the picture does not appear.

  • The power cable of the monitor is not properly plugged to the CPU power outlet.
  • The monitor has power but the monitor cable is not correctly connected to the CPU port.
  • The contrast and brightness settings are set to lowest configuration.
  • Make sure the cable of the monitor is properly plugged into the CPU outlet or in a 220 volt outlet.
  • Make sure the monitor cable is connected to the CPU monitor port (16pin port).
  • Adjust the contrast and brightness setting of the monitor screen until a clear image appears.

The screen is not synchronized or the image on the screen is blurred or distorted or discolored.

  • The monitor button settings are not properly configured.
  • The cable of the monitor is loose.
  • The monitor is discolored and is beginning to wear out.
  • Adjust the screen size, contrast, brightness, angle using the button settings of the monitor.
  • Restart the monitor by switching the power on after turning it off.
  • Make sure the monitor cable is properly connected to the CPU monitor port (16pin port).
  • Adjust the angle of the monitor to a comfortable eye position.
  • Report malfunctioning unit to the Center using the online request form.

The position of the screen is not at the center.

 

  • Adjust the H-size, H-phase or V-size, V- center controls of the monitor.

Electrical interference is shown on the monitor.

  • The power supply is not adequate for the monitor.
  • Move all objects that emit magnetic fields, such as speakers, motors or transformers, away from the monitor.
  • Check if the specified voltage in the AVR is normal within 220v-240v.
  • Report malfunction unit to the computer center using the online request form.

There is smoke or smell of burning plastic coming from the monitor.

  • Circuit parts of the monitor are burned.
  • Immediately turn off the monitor switch.
  • Report malfunctioning unit to the center using the online request form.
