In celebration of “Arbor Day na Ciudad de Zamboanga,” the staff and volunteers of the Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement (SACSI) office joined the tree planting activity organized by the Local Government and the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR). It was held last June 25, 2012 at Climaco Freedom Park, Abong-Abong, Zamboanga City.

Also joining the environmental celebration were members of different local sectors including national and local government agencies, academic institutions, military and police units, barangays and other people’s organizations, and private institutions.

The said activity was pursuant to Ordinance 281 which mandates the active participation of the public in tree planting activities and in celebration of Philippine Arbor Day which has been institutionalized to be observed every 25^th of June.
