Ateneo de Zamboanga University comes of age this year, as it marks its centennial foundation anniversary.
To drum up excitement for this year-long fete, a Grand Launching of the Centennial Jubilee 2012 will transpire on July 27 together with the Grade School Intramurals and a concert featuring local artists come the night. The High School takes the 28th, ending the day with a Black Out Disco Party at the MPCC. July 29 will feature a Laro ng Lahi and a Festival Dance Contest.
On July 30, 2012, the eve of the Feast of St. Ignatius, the Ateneo community will trace its historical roots with the unveiling of a marker on the former site of the school. This will be followed by the Centennial Jubilee Mass and the inauguration of the Centennial Walk. A human seal will be formed in the afternoon to celebrate a spirit of solidarity in the AdZU community.
A Centennial Dinner caps the four-day opening festivities where faculty, staff, and university guests will come together at the Astoria Regency Convention Center to commemorate the cultural diversity of Zamboanga City and remember the seasons of love shared in its 100 years of academic leadership.
