The Ateneo de Zamboanga University will hold the blessing and inauguration of its new five-story building in its Salvador campus along La Purisima St today, December 8, 2018. The event coincides with the commemoration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patroness of the University.

The Most Reverend Romulo dela Cruz, DD, Archbishop of Zamboanga, will officiate the blessing. An inaugural program will follow, to start with a welcome address by AdZU president Fr Karel San Juan, SJ.

To be named the Faustino W Saavedra (FWS) Building, the edifice houses the Senior High School (SHS), providing a most conducive learning environment, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, with its classrooms designed to challenge students to develop critical thinking and actively participate in their own learning.

Expected to witness the event are Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco, donors and benefactors, distinguished guests, and members of the AdZU community, including the board of trustees led by its chair Engr Efren Wee; administrators, faculty and staff.
