In order to provide improved security services, Ateneo de Zamboanga University Security Office (USO) partnered with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct Red Teeming, simulation exercises (SimEx) and check on the operational readiness of security guards at the Salvador Campus last Jun 6, 2018.

COPLAN RED TEEMING is a PNP flagship headed by Police Superintendent Edcille V Canlas. Represented by PCI Gary T Bahoy, Deputy Chief Operations and Investigation and SP02 Kim Santos with SP03 Roderick Gadatan, as documenter, CSG randomly checks and observes the operational readiness and effectiveness of USO tools and procedures. The PNP CSG Team explained the standard procedure of Red Teeming and its urgency and importance especially due to the current threat to peace and security in the region.

A total of 25 security guards and inspectors from Aloha Security Agency participated in the SimEx which included checking on security posts, conduct and courtesy during operations, implementation of policies and protocols, capabilities to respond to detection and inspection of gun entry, and pre-emption of equipment theft.

To ensure that the university continues with its top of the line security measures, PNP will submit recommendations on how to improve operations to Fr Richard V Ella SJ, Vice President for Administration. PNP and USO emphasizes the importance of community involvement and cooperation when it comes to keeping the university safe and secure.
