FIRST EVER! ADZU Non-academic staff takes part in SIMO Immersion Program

Last September 29, 2018 (Saturday), the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Social Development Units through SACSI office conducted an Immersion Program for the Non-academic Staff of AdZU. The program was able to deploy a total of 45 Non-Academic staff from the different offices and units.

Unlike the traditional SIMO that the office has been providing in the past years, this year’s SIMO has not only catered students but also the Non-Academic Staff. Four (4) simultaneous activities were conducted in different areas and these are as follows: (1) A Visit to Simariki Island, (2) Understanding IP Education in Campo Uno Labuan, (3) ECO TOUR in Vista del Mar Organic Farm and (4) Lagoon Tour in Sta. Cruz Island. 15 slots were allotted per activity.

The immersion program aims to provide an avenue for the non-academic staff of AdZU to be socially involved and engaged with the social realities and issues that are beyond the four corners of their respective offices at the same time highlighting the Social Development Units engagements with their partner communities. This can also help non-academic staff to enhance their social awareness considering the university’s core values.

Looking forward to more of this!
