Re: Protocols Concerning the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Acute Respiratory Disease

In view of the current health threat posed by the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Acute Respiratory Disease (nCoV ARD), the University is initiating the following protocols:

1. STAY HOME

We strongly advise families (and their household members) who travelled recently to China and to other countries with reported corona virus infection to do self-quarantine, i.e., to stay home for at least two weeks.

2. NOTIFY the UNIVERSITY INFIRMARY

In case of recent travel to infected countries, please inform the University Infirmary immediately, so that the infirmary personnel could monitor you closely.

3. PREVENT INFECTION

To prevent the spread of the corona virus or any other virus for that matter, please observe strictly the following precautionary measures:

  • Stay home and seek medical treatment immediately if you exhibit flu-like symptoms.
  • Practice proper hygiene by washing your hands properly and/or by using hand sanitizer frequently.
  • Ensure you get good nutrition and vitamins to strengthen your immune system.
  • Minimize the risk of infection by avoiding public places with large crowds or by using a face mask or other forms of protection when in crowded public places. Regarding the use of face masks, please check the World Health Organization website.

For related concerns or further queries, please contact 991-0871 to 76.

Thank you for your cooperation.
